A native (yes, really) of Atlanta,
Sharon Kraun has spent most of her career within her hometown. She began her career within the newsroom covering
positions of reporter, assignment editor and producer with WGST Radio, USA Today, WSB TV and WXIA TV.
From the newsbeat Sharon moved into the publicity
arena, spending ten years with Eason Publications (Creative Loafing Newspaper), directing public relations and promotions. She
created a movie screening program that developed the newspaper as a primary resource for previewing upcoming films. Sharon
developed a sposnorship strategy that provided the newspaper branding strength with its partipated events as well
as created added-value for advertising partners. And as the Internet emerged, Sharon helped create an online mall
for advertisers that turned into a consultant service for other alternative newsweeklies. Sharon also developed a loyalty program for the newspaper's Society of Creative Loafers MasterCard that
showed a three-fold increase in membership within six months of the start of the program.
To gain more "corporate" experience, Sharon
joined BellSouth.net, managing marketing efforts for the telco's consumer portal. She created a print and radio advertising
campaign positioning the portal as a media rather than telephone company home page.
From BellSouth, Sharon's entrepreneurial
spirit led her to test her skills working with a wide range of Internet companies, developing public relations and marketing
programs. For two years, Sharon was surrounded by the Internet's technical wave.
Then it was back to entertainment and consumer
marketing where Sharon now maintains a strong focus. Her favorite work is helping clients maximize sponsorship opportunities
- finding a fit beyond the standard proposals.
